Garry Kasparov and Deep Blue

Garry Kasparov the renowned world chess player, lost a game of chess which became an epic history as it was the first defeat of the player. The match was against an IBM powered computer DEEPBLUE, this was the first game in which a computer machine played against a human and came out victorious. This move was not on the chess board it was a historical move in the history where Artificial Intelligence out powered the Human Intelligence.

Garry Kasparov is a famous Russian player of the intellectual game of CHESS. He is chess player of all times, a writer and a political activist. The other worthy component was CHESS playing computer DEEPBLUE which was developed by the IBM. It was the first chess playing computer system.

In 1996 first matches were played, it comprised six of the matches. World Chess champion and IBM supercomputer Deep blue were playing against each other. The matches were held in Philladelphia. Although he won the first match but there was a major defeat on his side.

The next year the rematches took place in New York City in 1997, in which Kasparov has to face a major defeat. It became historical as he was known as a world champion of Chess which became a loss when he got lost a match against a computer machine.

The first match was won by Kasparov,2nd was win for the DEEPBLUE. The third Game was marked by an irregular start and was a draw match. 4TH was of defensive nature where Kasparov used the Caro-Kann defense techniques in his moves. The 5th match was having a character of Kings Indian Attack.6th was the Endgame.

The second rematches were played were played in the New York city. The opening game was played in Manhattan. Which became an epic victory of a machine over humans in Intelligence.

Chess

The game 6 was featured in the documentary film GAMEOVER: Kasparov and the machine. The other renowned player of chess Yasser Seirwan marked that DEEPBLUE is having a modern chess engine and mostly the victories was for the side of white section.

Kasparov mostly played defensive using the CARRO-KANN defense approach. Whereas the DEEPBLUE used many tactics. It made 200 million position per second. The 19 moves which Kasparov made became moves to defeat costed him his victory. The standard defense which he used was learned soon by the computer itself and it played tactfully.

He later accused IBM of unfair programming, and he even leveled up a remark that DEEPBLUE was coached during the chess tournaments were being played.

In recent interview over a podcast in 2016, he stated his views that as to how he feels about DEEPBLUE being victorious and the matches. When he now looks back, he is astonished by the power of artificial intelligence over the intelligence of human mind.
