A DOG THAT CAN DELIVER FOOD??
Is This Possible…..??
In our backyard, soon there might be a movement by a new robotic dog name Spot Mini.
Spot Mini is a new creation in our world by Boston Dynamics. Marc Raibert has designed this little robot. He is the President of Boston Dynamics, before starting this company he was a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT from 1986 to 1995. He served as an Associate Professor of CS and Robotics Institute at Carnegie -Mellon. He is also a founder of the Leg laboratory providing hima base for highly dynamic robots or legged creatures.
Inspired by the marked locomotive ability of animals to move with agility perception and dexterity working along with his teammates and coming up with such robots like Big Dog, Atlas, Handle, Cheetah, and now Spot Mini.
Here is one more addition to the canine inspired prototype. Spot Mini is designed closely resembling a dog having 12 joints,37 inches tall and can run on a battery 90 minutes duration.
Marc Raibert likes to work on the science of Balance and Dynamic Mobility, Mobile Manipulation, and Mobile Perception. Experimenting with the dynamics of Robotic Religion, where it is generally assumed that the robot machine is inbuilt with a computer programmed in it. He likes to build with a holistic approach, comprising the software the hardware and the behaviour. Adding the character of sensitivity to infer the difficulty which may come when in interaction with the physical world, and how a machine can overcome it itself.
The Spot Mini is one of his Holistic Design which can climb stairs, a rough patch, and get inside homes and offices. It can even serve you with a glass of a drink. Or may even open a door for you as it once did for one of the other robots, which came into notice and has drawn magnitude of attention by the video going viral around the world.
Spot Mini has sensors inbuilt in it which give it advance navigation ability. Stereo, Depth, IMU sensors, and perceptual sensing. Which has been added to this design, that is the reason why it can easily be used to investigate the working in a gas factory or maybe a mining site. One can even establish a dialogue with it through radio sensors when working remotely controlled by a human operator.
Mobility, Dexterity, Perception is the equation implied in its building. Spot Mini has used gyro, batteries, in its design construction. It is omnidirectional in character it can easily range its movement in all 360° directions.
Spot Mini goes in the chicken head mode in which it raises its head and moves it in a play way manner and then raising it hand showing off its dance moves. It can give you a glass of water, as it has 5 ° of freedom arm.
It might amaze you with its navigating and planning capability. The way it plans out as to which terrain to take while walking without human help. Making it possible to meet real-life challenges and doing things that they actually mend for doing even in adverse conditions. This is how the concept of mobile manipulation and perception is made active in it’s working.
Boston Dynamics have also come up with the design robot of a humanoid named, Atlas. It can be of great utility to keep the bulk boxes on conveyor belts and working involving a force of such a kind. The handle is the other addition in the tribes of the robot, weighing 100 pounds, half-animal like. Cheetah one of the canines which can run at very high speed, without a visual support system.
Marc as he promised to bring the prototype of Spot Mini in the market. 100 designs have already been made. It has cost around 10,000 USD, but still, the price tag has not been attached to it.
Spot Mini will soon become a member of the families who will be welcoming it by purchasing one. It will be a great help to the aging, the disabled, and at home.
Once the Boston Dynamics Community in their trials made it deliver a package to one of their colleagues. Spot Mini finding its own access way delivered it and has accomplished this task easily. The day is not far when it will be hired to do the job of home delivery.
Spot Mini is indeed one of the dogs from the clans of four-legged robotics that can deliver food.
